Free USM Printable – Lucas Administration Building

Today, I’m mixing things up and showing some love for the University of Southern Mississippi. The free printable is of the Lucas Administration Building. So far, I have only posted illustrations for Ole Miss or Mississippi State, so I thought it might be time to branch out for all you golden eagles. According to USM’s website, the Lucas Administration Building was completed in 1930. It’s pretty iconic, and it is the first thing I think of when I think of Southern. (I’m sure this is due in part to the dome of…

It’s a new Ole Miss printable! The Lyceum is probably the most iconic building located on the university’s campus. Here is a little excerpt about the structure from the Ole Miss website: The Lyceum Begun July 14, 1846, and completed in 1848, the Lyceum is of stately Ionic Greek Revival design and bricks thought to have been made from clay at the site. Its architect was William Nichols. The building was lengthened in 1858, two flanking wings added in 1903, and the west facade in 1923. The entire building was…

Gulfport, Mississippi Illustration

Happy Hometown Tuesday! Today, I’m sharing this Gulfport, Mississippi illustration. I will be honest. I have not visited the Mississippi Gulf Coast in years, but I did grow up visiting just about every year. The only restaurants I remember are Lil Rays and one of the casino buffets (and my first time eating lobster ;)). As far as activities, we usually shopped at the outlet mall or hung around the beach or pool at our hotel. However, my absolute favorite thing as a child was to go to the Lyn…

Of course, Cafe du Monde. I know it’s overrun with tourists, but it is SO worth it. There are now many locations if you don’t want to wait for a…
